Rain Catchers

Winter and Spring in the Valley are a mixture of rain and snow and sun and cold freezing nights.  Here, in late-morning sun, some of the barren shrub-branches show fresh raindrops, plus leftover snow and ice crystals from the previous afternoon and the cold night.

One of the characteristics of a camera's "depth-of-field" is the blurring of the background.  With an image like this one, there is no particular "subject", but rather a number of interesting paths and sections which the eye can follow and linger upon.
