Forest Renewal
This is the way the forest renews itself; death, decay, and soil enrichment for the next generations. Once these limbs held seed cones, which themselves fell to the ground to scatter their seeds, a very few of which might escape the eyes and nose of the squirrels and birds, to take root in the soil and themselves grow to shed cones and limbs.
