Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey
Monterey is the northern gateway to Big Sur. The harbor area in Monterey is a center for pleasure boats, kayaking, museums, and coastal paths for biking and walking. At the historic Fisherman's Wharf, one can board whale-watching tours, take sport-fishing trips, peruse the many retail shops, and dine in a variety of restaurants that overlook the harbor.
